Aneo has expanded its renewable energy portfolio through the acquisition of the 130MW Bäckhammar wind farm in southern Sweden from KGAL Investment Management. This strategic acquisition supports Aneo’s broader objective of growing its presence in the Nordic renewable energy market. Located in Kristinehamn municipality within Sweden’s SE3 price zone, the Bäckhammar wind farm features 31 Vestas turbines and has been operational since 2020. The transaction further strengthens Aneo’s geographical diversification and enhances its long-term market position. The acquisition also includes the continuation of an existing power purchase agreement (PPA) with a major international technology firm, ensuring stable revenue generation. The wind farm is expected to contribute approximately 355GWh of annual electricity production, representing nearly 30% of Aneo’s total wind output within the SE3 zone. Executives from Aneo emphasized that the site is technically robust, competitively priced, and offers opportunities for both optimization and future development. Despite internal cost-cutting initiatives responding to current market challenges, the company highlighted its continued confidence in the Nordic power sector.
