Development has begun on Leoda Solar Farm, a 500-600MW solar-battery project in Lincolnshire, UK, by Telis Energy subsidiary Leoda Solar Farm Ltd.
This hybrid project integrates solar energy generation with a battery energy storage system (BESS) to store surplus power and ensure supply reliability during peak demand. Initial land surveys are underway, with a public consultation from January 23 to March 6, offering local stakeholders and residents the chance to influence the project’s design. Classified as a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP), the proposal will be reviewed by the Planning Inspectorate and ultimately decided by the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero. Alex Herbert, Head of Planning at Leoda Solar Farm Ltd, highlighted the project’s contribution to the UK’s net-zero targets and commitment to benefiting local communities and the environment. The project is part of Telis Energy Group’s goal to deliver 10GW of renewable energy across Europe by 2030. Telis belongs to the top renewable energy developers in the UK.
