European Energy has completed the sale of the 215MW Lidsø solar park in Lolland, Denmark, to Nordic independent power producer Alight.
The Lidsø solar park began construction in the summer of 2024 and is scheduled for commissioning in the summer of 2025. European Energy not only developed the project but has also secured long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) to ensure a stable energy offtake. The company will continue to oversee the construction and will be responsible for the operation of the solar park once commissioned.
European Energy’s CEO, Knud Erik Andersen, emphasized the company’s ongoing commitment to Lolland Municipality, where multiple renewable energy projects are under development. Warren Campbell, CEO of Alight, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, citing it as a strategic step in expanding Alight’s presence in Denmark’s energy transition.
The transaction aligns with European Energy’s broader strategy to accelerate the deployment of renewable energy both in Denmark and internationally.
