Headquartered in London, UK, InfraRed Capital Partners Limited are a leading investment company. Their renewables focus lies not only on onshore as well as offshore wind, but also on solar PV assets. The investment group has offices in London, New York, Sydney, and Seoul with over 220 infrastructure projects.
In 2021, the group joined the Net Zero Asset Managers Initiative, making the net-zero pledge. InfraRed manage over $12bn of equity in private and listed funds, with the renewable energy sector accounting for 38% of that. The investment group have put an impetus on aligning their goals with the UN SDGs, with a special focus on affordable clean energy and climate action.
Engie has secured financing from Wells Fargo, Bank of America, and InfraRed Capital Partners which have provided capital for three wind projects. The wind projects are located in Ford County, Kansas, Warren County, North Carolina, and Mills County, Texas. All of the projects will be developed by Engie North America and the electricity provided will be sold to a previously arranged PPA. The Iron Star project in Kansas is comprised of 62 4.8MW wind turbines. Whereas, the Priddy project in Texas will consist of 63 4.8MW wind machines. The final project in North Carolina will have a total installed capacity of 65MW. The trio of projects is the first partnership between Engie and InfraRed, which highlights their intent to accelerate their clean energy portfolio.
Investment group InfraRed acquired stakes in a huge portfolio of operating wind farms in Canada and the US from Algonquin for $384 million. The deal includes a 49% stake in three operating wind farms in the United States with a total installed capacity of 551MW as well as a 80% stake in a 175MW wind farm in Canada.
