Spanish-based Naturgy is a company that focuses on the generation, distribution and marketing of natural gas and electricity. When it comes to renewables, their focus lies on wind, solar and hydroelectric projects. Their overall installed renewable capacity of 4.6GW includes 2.4GW of installed wind capacity, 0.5GW of installed solar capacity and 2.1GW of hydroelectric capacity. Locally, the company produces most of their renewable electricity in Spain, but also in Australia, Mexico, Chile, Costa Rica, Brazil and Panama.
Since 2017, the company headquarters are in Madrid, earlier they were in Barcelona. Naturgy operates in 20 countries, has over 16 million customers and has an overall installed capacity of 15.9GW which includes renewable capacity of 4.6GW. Naturgy‘s goal is to expand this number towards 14GW by 2025. The company is listed on four Spanish stock exchanges and in the Ibex 35.
Madrid-based utility group Naturgy signed a power purchase agreement to supply renewable energy to automobile manufacturer Draxton in Spain. According to Naturgy, the contracted volume of renewable energy supply will cover 25% of Draxton‘s power consumption. Starting in the beginning of 2024, the agreement will be effective for ten years.
