Largest greek renewable energy investor
Terna Energy is a greek renewable energy investor with a diverse portfolio including solar, wind and hydro energy as well as energy storage - specifically pumped storage projects. In addition to these renewable energy assets, Terna also invests in Hybrid projects, Biogas projects as well as waste management projects. The investor is the largest investor in the renewable energy sector from Greek and was founded in 2000. In the last 20 years around 2€ billion have been invested to date. With this investments, Terna has established a portfolio of 2.000 MW of RES projects, including installed projects and projects under construction.
A green and sustainable future by 2025?
In the beginning of the companies history, Terna focused on project in Greece, which is still their core market - but now Athens-based investor has expanded their investment area and is active in South-Eastern and Central Europe and in the States with wind projects. Considering renewable energy as a key driver in the development of our society, Terna has set high goals concerning their involvement - in 2025, Terna wants to achieve a 3,000 MW target of installed renewable energy sites in Greece and abroad. This goeas accordingly with their Mission statement: Our mission, a green, sustainable future!
