National Grid Renewables has commenced onsite construction of the Sycamore Creek Solar Project in Crawford County, Ohio. Once operational, the 117MW project will supply clean solar energy within the PJM market and contribute an estimated $27 million in economic benefits to the local community.
Joe Ibrahim, Vice President of Construction at National Grid Renewables, emphasized the company’s commitment to Ohio, stating that Sycamore Creek is its fifth solar project in the state. The project is expected to generate $16 million in tax revenue for local townships, school districts, and emergency services while supporting around 160 construction jobs.
National Grid Renewables has contracted Kiewit Power Constructors as the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) partner for Sycamore Creek, continuing their collaboration from previous projects. Brian Koller, Vice President of Kiewit Power Constructors Co., highlighted the economic and environmental benefits of their partnership.
The project expands National Grid Renewables’ Ohio portfolio to over 675MW of solar capacity, following the operational launch of Yellowbud Solar in late 2023 and ongoing construction of Dodson Creek Solar, Ross County Solar, and Fayette Solar.
