OX2 has announced the sale of its 96 MW Ansthall onshore wind farm project in eastern Romania to HELLENiQ Renewables, a wholly owned subsidiary of HELLENiQ ENERGY Holdings. The project is supported by a 12-year virtual power purchase agreement (PPA) with Ahold Delhaize, an international retail group, covering over half of the wind farm’s electricity output.
The Ansthall wind farm will consist of 15 Vestas 6.4 MW turbines, with construction scheduled to begin in Q3 2025 and commissioning targeted for 2027. OX2 has led the origination and structuring of the PPA and highlighted that the deal reflects its strategy of advancing Romanian renewable projects to the financial investment decision stage.
