Blessed with an abundance of sunshine, Spain is a leader in the use of solar energy. With an impressive installed solar capacity, the country is actively moving towards a more sustainable future. In the following we will present three large PV-Installers in Spain.
1. Acciona SA (Madrid)
Acciona is headquartered in Madrid and has become a global leader in sustainable infrastructure solutions, particularly in the solar sector. The company offers services in the complete solar value chain, from design, construction and operation to maintenance. Acciona has been at the forefront of innovation since 2001, having built the at that time largest photovoltaic plant in Spain in Tudela, Navarra. The company’s portfolio highlights over 30 large-scale photovoltaic plants around the world with an installed capacity of more than 2 GWp. Additionally to the company’s core business of photovoltaic services, Acciona has played an important role in the revival of solar thermal energy, also offering EPC services for solar thermal plants. An example project of Acciona is the Sierra Brava floating PV plant as the first grid-connected floating solar plant in Spain. The Sierra Brava project was started in 2020 and has an installed capacity of 1,375 MWp.
2. Fotovol Solar SL (Vulpellac)
Since its establishment, Fotovol Solar has emerged as a prominent force within the Spanish solar energy sector. The company has successfully positioned itself as a leading provider of comprehensive PV solutions for a diverse range of clients, including residential, commercial, and industrial customers. To date the company has an installed capacity of more than 18 MW and is a multi-certified installer. An example project of Fotovol Solar is the Pagès Valentí II project in Sant Jaume de Llierca. The project has an overall capacity of 1.5 MWp.
3. Soletec Proyectos e Instalaciones, S.L. (Castellón)
Soletec was established in 2018 and has offices in Madrid, Castellòn, Valencia and Barcelona. The company is a specialist in the field of solar module installation. Soletec’s services encompasses the entire process, from initial planning to final commissioning, for photovoltaic systems. The company’s portfolio shows residential and also commercial projects throughout Spain.
