PV Installers Switzerland

List of 3 large PV-Installers in Switzerland

Switzerland is a pioneer in environmental awareness, and solar energy represents an excellent opportunity to contribute to a cleaner future while reducing electricity costs. So far, Switzerland’s energy supply has mainly relied on hydropower and nuclear power. However, like many other countries, Switzerland is shifting towards renewable energy sources. Solar energy will play an important part in this transformation. Over the last few years, Switzerland has installed more than 1 GW of solar energy, peaking in 2024 with around 1.8 GW. It is expected to install around 1.6 GW in 2025. Local PV installers play an important role in this development. In the following section, three major PV installers in Switzerland will be presented.

1. Helion Energy AG (Zuchwil)

Helion Energy has been active in the solar market since 2008 and is one of the leading Energy solution companies in the Swiss Confederation. The company is active throughout Switzerland and is regionally anchored with six main branches in all language regions. Helion installs solar systems for both private and commercial customers. With 450 employees, Helion operates throughout Switzerland and has a strong regional presence with six main offices in all language regions. The company has already completed several large projects, including a 1MWp plant for Streck Transport AG. Helion is also responsible for large-scale projects, such as the PV equipment of 77 ALDI stores. In addition to photovoltaic systems, Helion also installs heat pumps, power storages and e-mobility solutions. Recently, a strategic partnership has been established with Meyer Burger, a Swiss solar company. The objective is to rebuild the photovoltaic value chain in Switzerland. Currently, 90% of solar modules are imported from Asia. This is precisely what the partnership aims to change.

2. MBRsolar AG (Wängi)

MBRsolar was founded in 2008. Since its inception, the company has established itself as a leading photovoltaic installer in Switzerland. The company reached a total installed capacity of over 100MWp and 3000 completed installations. The company’s services include installing solar energy systems on single-family homes, agricultural facilities, and commercial properties. The service portfolio also includes project planning, plant monitoring, and financial solutions for financing PV plants. Christian Wolf from MBRsolar identifies the most promising prospects for the Swiss agricultural sector as a significant energy producer. The experienced executive recently made this forecast at the annual conference of the Lucerne Association for Agricultural Technology.

3. BE Netz AG (Lucerne)

BE Netz AG, headquartered in Lucerne, has a history dating back to 1994. The company currently employs over 70 individuals. In addition to its core business of regular PV installations, the company also offers innovative solar facades, for example, for apartment buildings in Fahrwangen or in Buochs. BE Netz also has a strong presence in the industrial sector, with clients such as Meyer BlechTechnik AG. To date, the company has planned and completed more than 3,400 renewable energy projects.
