North American solar energy developers

List of 3 solar park developers from the United States

Renewable energy is gaining more and more attention around the world. With one of the world’s highest energy demands, America is at the forefront of renewable energy research, development and implementation. Solar or photovoltaic energy is one of the fastest growing sources of energy and as a result more and more solar energy developers are emerging around the world and in the United States. Solar energy is an important and highly relevant field and many American solar developers are active worldwide with strong expertise. In the following article three relevant solar energy developers from the United States are presented.

1. LS Power (New York, United States)

LS Power is one of the earliest solar developers in the United States and one of the largest players in the industry. Founded in 1990, the New York-based solar developer has developed, constructed, managed and acquired more than 45,000 MW across the Americas, primarily in the North. While its portfolio includes a variety of renewable energy sources, such as wind, hydroelectric, hydro and energy storage, solar power is at the heart of LS Power.

Update 2024: In Vermont (USA), LS Energy Solutions deployed two 5MW/10MWh battery storage units, which are now operated by Strata Clean Energy.

2. Amshore (Dallas, United States)

Founded in 2002, the Dallas-based renewable energy developer specialises in renewable energy development for utilities and independent power producers. Since then, Texas-based Amshore has developed more than 2.9 GW of projects, mostly in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico, covering half a million acres.

Update 2024: In March Amshore announced that they secured site control of about 1,500 acres for the new Route 66 Solar + Battery Project.

3. Pivot Energy (Denver, United States)

Pivot Energy is a Denver-based solar developer working in both the community solar and commercial solar sectors. “Community solar provides a range of services in the residential sector, with a focus on making environmental benefits accessible to everyone. In the commercial solar sector, Pivot provides various turnkey services such as project and system financing. Since its inception 12 years ago, Pivot Energy has completed approximately 830 projects throughout the United States. In addition to solar energy development, Pivot is also active in the energy storage sector.
