We are introducing our readers to leading EPC’s in Europe. In this article we asked Kyiv based EPC Avenston Group three exciting questions regarding their EPC services.
Could you describe your company and EPC activities?
“Avenston is a Ukrainian group of companies specializing in project management, consulting and implementing renewable energy technologies. Our main activity is a full range of turnkey EPC services as well as Balance of System (BoS) solutions for utility-scale, rooftop solar power plants. Many years of experience allow us to implement projects of any complexity. The company has been present in the solar business since 2008. During this time we did engineering and Design for 480 MW of solar power plants, supplied equipment for 140 MW of solar power plants and turnkey constructed 105 MW of solar power plants. Since 2020 we have made several of our own investments in ground-mounted and rooftop solar power plants. Avenston works in Ukraine and we have plans to expand activity to Eastern Europe soon.”
What were your most notable projects so far?
“Avenston has a nice portfolio with projects in various parts of Ukraine. The capacity range of completed solar plants is in the range of tens kilowatts to tens megawatts. For example, the Katerynivka solar PV power plant with a capacity of 13,5 MWp has been built for foreign investor who entered the Ukrainian solar market. The Komyshuvate-2 solar PV power plant with a capacity of 3,2 MWp has been built for local investor interested in FIT. Other tens of solar projects were built on the ground or roofs using crystalline or thin-film PV modules and top-ranked solar inverters. This year we are focused mainly on rooftop PV systems installed to cover full or partial power consumption by our customers. Usually, capacities for these projects are 100 kW to 1 MW.”
Do you have any activities or first projects in emerging sectors?
“Our company has experience in technical advising for customers who are interested in building floating PV systems. Also, we are seriously thinking about agri-PV and BESS+PV solutions. The most prospective technology for market implementation is the combination of solar with energy storage. Our engineering department is testing new solutions and plans to choose the best of them for implementation in our future projects. Avenston has its own solutions based on solar power carports and “East-West” ground-mounted installations. The last one has to be used in the next project.”
