List of 3 Renewable Energy Startups founded in the United Kingdom

UK based Renewable Energy Startups

This article is based on our list of the 100 renewable energy startups in Europe containing general contact details, company details as well as information about the company focus. The list also offers personal contact information.

In December 2020, almost 41% of the total electricity produced in the UK were generated through renewable energy resources.

This development shows that the contribution made by renewable energy resources to UK power generation has more than doubled since 2014 – and yet an increase is still possible.

That’s why many startups are founded in the UK that strive to accelerate the energy transition. Therefore, we would like to introduce some of these startups in this blog, while the remaining Renewable Energy Startups are accessible through our open-access online database of +100 European based Startups.

1) Zeigo (London)

By building an extensive network of renewable energy generators and suppliers, Zeigo developed an energy platform that allows customers to reach their decarbonisation targets in the most impactful way. Through gaining instant access to the largest network of renewable energy developers and suppliers in one place, the London based Startups enables a transparent and unbiased view of the renewable energy market and simultaneous offering solutions for corporate PPAs, Utility PPAs and Certificates.

2) Tokamak Energy (Oxford)

The Oxford based Startup developed a technology which enables a scalable fusion solution that will give an attractive new baseload, safe, cost effective, secure and clean. By combining spherical tokamaks and high temperature superconductors, Tokamak developed the fusion power plant of the future while commercializing the tech applications today. As global leader in High Temperature Superconducting (HTS) magnets Tokamak takes established science and builds on it by pioneering the use of spherical tokamaks in conjunction with HTS magnet technology.

3) Zenobe Energy (London)

With the aim to enable the transition to full zero carbon, non-polluting power and transport systems, Zenobe developed an innovative use of battery storage. Striving toward a clean and accessible energy future and the transition to a zero-carbon society, the London based Startup makes clean power and transport economically and environmentally sustainable by promoting a circular economy for batteries.
