LONGi Solar
LONGi Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd. is a Chinese solar technology manufacturing company. The firm was founded in 2000 and has since then strived to become the world’s most valuable solar technology enterprise. The company was founded by Li Zhenguo and Zhong Baoshen. Both went to Lanzhou University and named their company LONGi in honour of the university’s former president Jiang Longji. LONGi has passed through multiple eras in their history. The company started off as a semiconductor manufacturing company and in 2006 entered in the silicon wafer market. Since 2014 LONGi started to enter the solar technologies market, and in 2021 LONGi entered the hydrogen market. The leadership of LONGi consists of Baoshen Zhong, Chairman of the LONGi and president of LONGi solar technology Co. Ltd., Zhenguo Li, the founder and President of LONGi and vice president of China New Energy Chamber of Commerce, and Wenxue Li, vice president of LONGi.
Solar business
LONGi is a globally connected company. From their headquarter in Xian the firm has several manufacturing bases and sales offices around the globe. LONGi has seven production bases in China and two overseas, six sales service branches and 1 hydrogen production equipment factory. Furthermore, the company has sales offices in more than 150 countries worldwide. The domestic production bases are in Yunnan, Ningxia, Jiangsu, Shaanxi, Zhejiang, Anhui, and Shanxi, with Yunnan and Ningxia being the largest ones. The overseas production bases are in Malaysia and Vietnam with a third one in India currently under construction.
Solutions
LONGi has multiple solutions for utility scale solar plants, commercial and industrial grade photovoltaic panels and residential solar panels in their portfolio. Their power plant solutions are eco-friendly power plants, solar-plus-energy storage plants and hydrogen power plants. LONGi’s commercial and industrial solutions include industrial, construction, transportation, agri-voltaics, and ecological restoration and their residential solutions are either standardised or customised solar panels.
products
LONGI produces a multitude of different solar technology products. The company has P and N-type solar wafers, PV modules and BIPV products in their product range. For their PV modules and BIPV the company uses cutting edge technologies like PERC, HJT, Bifacial, Diamond Wire Slicing Technology and RCZ Technology. PERC is a fairly new solar module technology which allows solar panels to retain electrons from light with longer wavelengths and also to stay cooler which helps the solar panels longevity. HJT is also a state-of-the-art technology that is a hybrid between crystalline and thin-film technologies.
