Addressing a significant challenge in the global energy revolution, the focus is on guaranteeing the widespread availability of hydrogen. In this pursuit, hydrogen electrolyzers play a crucial role, offering an indispensable means to produce low-cost, high-quality hydrogen applicable across a diverse range of uses. In this article we will highlight three large electrolyzer manufacturers in China: PERIC, LONGi, and Sungrow.
1. PERIC Hydrogen Technologies Co.
PERIC Hydrogen Technologies stands as a wholly owned subsidiary of the Purification Equipment Research Institute of CSIC. PERIC is headquartered in Handan City and takes center stage in pioneering research, design, and manufacturing of hydrogen generation systems. Furthermore, the company is dedicated to the exploration and development of hydrogen energy utilization. PERIC’s portfolio includes alkaline and PEM water electrolysis. The company has nearly 2.000 employees and a total construction area of 21500 square meters.
2. LONGi Hydrogen
LONGi Hydrogen, a subsidiary of LONGi Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd., is a Xi’an based solar technology company. The company has successfully engineered an expansive and advanced alkaline water electrolysis hydrogen production system. LONGi’s global presence extends across over 150 countries and regions, with manufacturing facilities and sales offices located worldwide. From factories in China, Vietnam, and Malaysia to sales offices in the United States, Japan, India, Australia, and the United Arab Emirates, LONGi exemplifies an international footprint. In 2020, LONGi became the sole Chinese company to join all three “100” initiatives dedicated to climate action. Additionally, LONGi became a participant in the Science-Based Target Initiative (SBTi).
3. Sungrow Power Supply Co.
Sungrow is a Hefei based research and development company for solar inverters, with alkaline and PEM water electrolysis equipment among their portfolio products. The company was founded in 1997 and has stayed committed to providing clean power employing over 3100 people. Sungrow helps produce clean energy in more than 150 countries and has won the awards of China Grand Awards for Industry, Global Top 500 New Energy Enterprises, Top 50 Innovative Chinese Companies, National Manufacturing Single Champion Demonstration Enterprise, National Intellectual Property Demonstration Enterprise, and Best Companies to Work For in Asia.
