With over 2GW total solar capacity in 2020, Austria’s solar capacity made up about 10% of the combined renewable energy capacity in that year. The capacity of installed solar energy in Austria is expected to have a compound annual growth rate of over 12% in the years 2022 to 2027. The following three companies are planning to be part of this growth and own large PV portfolios in Austria.
1) CCE Holding GmbH
With their expertise in photovoltaics, Clean Capital Energy is developing, financing and managing investments in the photovoltaic growth sector. In Austria, Germany, Italy, France, the Netherlands and Chile, the company has realised projects with a total capacity of over 150MW and still has over 2GW of solar projects in development. With several operational PV solar projects in Austria, the company is significantly contributing to the transition towards renewable energy.
2) PV-Invest GmbH
Klagenfurt-based investment company PV-Invest makes funding plans for its investors in order to develop profitable PV solar plants. With 86 PV power plants in 10 countries, the company has reached an annual electricity production of 72,500 MWh. With 24 of these power plants located in Austria, PV-Invest brings the transition of Austria towards renewable energy significantly forward.
3) MMT GmbH
Vienna-based investment company ММТ GmbH implements modern investment strategies to maximize returns and minimize risks for its investors. The company uses investments to provide financial support to projects in the solar power industry globally. With this method, MMT GmbH has managed to build a substantial solar energy portfolio in Austria and beyond.
