In Switzerland, solar power has been growing rapidly due to declining system costs as well as a feed-in tariff by the government. Following companies with large PV portfolios are headquartered in Switzerland.

1) SUSI Partners AG

Based in Zug, SUSI Partners is a private fund manager that provides institutional clients with access to private equity and credit investments. The company is specialised in sustainable energy infrastructure investments including onshore wind and solar assets. Managing €1,7 billion capital of their investors and having already over €1 billion invested in over 20 countries, SUSI Partners is a leading investment firm from Switzerland.

2) EBL (Genossenschaft Elektra Baselland)

Founded in 1898, Liestal-based EBL is a major energy supply company. The company supplies electricity, heat and telecommunications services to over 200,000 people. For decades, EBL has been promoting the production of energy from renewable sources. Now, it is actively committed to energy efficiency and renewable investing. The company invests into onshore wind, solar, hydro and biomass assets in different European countries, including Switzerland.

3) Smartenergy Invest AG

As a private investment firm, Smartenergy Invest focuses on investments in renewable energy. Founded in 2011, the Wollerau-based investment group focuses on the acquisition of wind, solar and hydro projects in all stages of development. Locally focused on Europe, the company has invested into projects in Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Italy and Portugal. An example is their joint venture with a Spanish developer for a total of 4GW solar projects in Spain as well as their acquisition of a further 1GW of Spanish solar projects.
