The German company is considered as a leading investment manager in real asset solutions. At the time of the founding, they were one of the first alternative investment firms while they are a very successful investor with the mission to finance sustainable investments and providing investment solutions with the overall goal to reduce carbon emissions. Based on this intention, they focus on investments in renewable energy, energy efficiency, infrastructure, residential real estate, green logistics as well as timber and agriculture.
Since the founding in 2001, the stock listed company (ALAQU) was able to assemble a large portfolio of renewable energy projects. Among them are currently 573 wind turbines, 119 solar parks and 149 hydropower plants. These systems developing a total capacity of over 8 GW and can therefore provide 3.6 million households with energy. Next to the renewable energy projects themselves, they also built over 2 million square meters of sustainable real estate and green logistics projects.
Aquila European Renewables Income Fund (AERIF) of Hamburg based investment firm Aquila Capital entered into an agreement to purchase a 100% interest in a 30MW solar farm in Tiza in the south of Spain which is already operational. The acquisition of this project increases AERIF's total solar portfolio capacity to 230MW. Aquila Capital advised AERIF for the transaction.
