Regional focus
n.a.
The renewable energy developer was founded in 2002. Headquartered in Spain, Capital Energy was initially exclusively a wind and solar developer. Then, the company broadened its strategy into acting along the whole value chain of renewable energy generation. Their renewables focus lies on onshore wind, solar, energy storage and hydrogen projects in Portugal and Spain.
The value chain starts at developing and constructing projects and producing their own solar and wind in Portugal and Spain. But Capital Energy is active until the end of the value chain: The company operates the renewable energy assets and supplies the energy to households that consume it. Overall it can be summarised that Capital Energy promotes and develops renewable electricity generation and storage and sells the generated renewable energy to the end consumer.
Madrid-based Capital Energy signed a 10 year-power purchase agreement with Atlantic Copper for a proposed 41 MW solar project in Spain. Planned to be located in Teba in Malaga province, the solar farm will provide 43.8 GWh of electricity annually from 2025.
