Established in 1995, Carlton Power is a UK-based energy developer that has its headquarters in Stokesley, North Yorkshire. Its renewable energy focus is not only energy storage, but also hydrogen projects.The company has a large development portfolio of energy storage as well as hydrogen projects in the UK and Europe.
Developer secured planning consent for 1GW storage project
In July 2023, UK-based developer Carlton Power secured the planning consent for a 2,080MWh battery energy storage scheme in the UK. Located in Trafford Low Carbon Energy Park’ in Greater Manchester, the project will have a capacity of up to 1GW. Project development will cost around £750 million. Carlton Power plans for construction to start in 2024 and the project to become operational by the end of 2025.
