Solar energy developer owning the 3rd largest solar park across the US

With headquarter in Richmond, the renewable energy developer holds the 3rd largest solar park across the United State. Being considered as one of the market leaders in the solar development, Dominion Energy has an ambitious 15-year plan: growing from their current output of 369 MW to around 16,000 MW by 2035.

Development of largest commercial offshore wind farm in US

Dominion Energy has obtained the final two federal approvals that were required to start the construction of its 2.6 GW Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind project. Submitted in December 2020 to the US Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, the offshore wind farm will be situated 27 miles off the coast of Virginia Beach in the United States. Upon full operation, which is planned for 2026, the offshore wind farm will generate enough electricity to power about 660,000 homes.

Development of new solar projects in Virginia

The Virginia State Corporation Commission has given the green light to over a dozen new solar projects by US developer Dominion Energy, amounting to 764MW of new capacity. These projects will produce enough electricity to meet the needs of nearly 200,000 households. Among them, Dominion Energy Virginia will own or acquire four solar projects. These projects comprise the Beldale Solar (57MW) in Powhatan County, Blue Ridge Solar (95MW) in Pittsylvania County, Bookers Mill Solar (127MW) in Richmond County, and Michaux Solar (50MW) in Henry and Pittsylvania Counties. The new projects signify a substantial growth of Dominion Energy’s solar portfolio. Upon completion of these projects, the company's approved solar ventures in Virginia will exceed 4.6GW, enough to power over 1.1 million homes at maximum capacity.
