Description

What’s the focus of EDP Renewables?

Within the renewable energy sector, EDP Renewables focuses on the development of offshore and onshore wind parks. Compared to other developers, EDPR is the world third-largest wind energy producer. In addition to the wind sector, the field of solar energy represents a core area. Today, the stock-listed developer is present in 15 markets across the globe while still seeking further growth and operational excellence.

Objective of the Madrid-based developer

EDP Renewables shares the overall goal of changing the energy supply chain to a more sustainable and greener implementation. Therefore, the Spanish developer strives to be a global leader in the field of renewable energy generation by conveying values like innovation, sustainability and humanization.

PPA with Ohio-based corporation for Italian solar portfolio

Madrid-based renewable energy developer EDP Renovaveis SA signed a power purchase agreement with the American consumer goods corporation Procter & Gamble for the output of a 109MW solar portfolio. Located in the region of Lazio in Italy, the portfolio comprises two photovoltaic parks. EDP Renovaveis expects the solar parks to be operational before the end of 2023.

Three onshore wind projects in Italy

EDP Renovaveis SA has won a 20 year contract-for-difference (CfD) for 100 MW of wind power in an auction in Italy. The CfDs concern three onshore wind projects located in the south of the country. The three wind parks are expected to become operational by 2026.
