Consortium of Shetland based companies join forces to develop wind energy
Energy Isles is a consortium of over fifty Shetland-based companies which come together to realise the wind potential in Yell, UK. The companies included are from a wide range of sectors including farming, transport and fishing. The group was founded in 2014, with a view to develop a project with 63 turbines in the north of Yell. In 2019, they formed a relationship with Statkraft in order to call upon their expertise to develop the farm. After several negotiations, the currently proposed wind farm will consist of 23 turbines.
