Fred Olsen Renewables (FORAS) is a developer, owner and operator of wind energy sites, mainly in the United Kingdom and Scandinavia. With 12 operating wind farms - onshore wind farms as well as offshore wind farms, the renewable energy developer has installed around 780 MW, with a total project pipeline of 4 GW. An exciting new project of the company is their agreement with the Solar Energy Institute of Singapore (SERIS) to develop floating solar sites.
As Fred Olsen Renwables is an all-rounder in wind energy, the company undertakes everything from development steps, to construction, maintaining & operating as well as evaluating environmental impact. The London-based renewable energy developer starts the development phase with the environmental assessment of possible new sites and transitions to the permitting process. The construction part is also fully performed by FORAS, as the developer manages everything including roadworks, underground cabling, foundation construction or turbine installation. With their trained technicians and in-house service team, Fred Olsen Renewables is also highly involved in the operating and maintaining of wind turbines. The company takes their environmental responsibility very seriously and, for example, has restored multiple streams in their wind park in Scotland, leading to protecting returning ground nesting birds.
