Founded in 1992, Iberdrola is the largest utility in Europe and one of the global leaders, serving over 100 million people globally with €150 billion in total assets. The company operates 41 GW of renewables and maintains a vast network spanning 1.2 million kilometers. Iberdrola is focused on offshore wind projects, with a global construction portfolio exceeding €10 billion.
The 800 MW Vineyard Wind 1 project in the US, the first commercial-scale offshore windfarm in the country, has initiated turbine installation with the expectation of power generation soon. In July, Iberdrola successfully connected the Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm in France to the electricity grid, marking a significant achievement as the first large-scale offshore wind project in the Brittany region. Additionally, the Baltic Eagle wind farm in Germany is under construction and set to be operational in 2024. Projects like East Anglia 3 in the UK and Windanker in Germany are scheduled to start production in 2026. These initiatives will expand Iberdrola's operational offshore wind projects, currently totaling 1,258 MW, including notable projects such as West of Duddon Sands in the Irish Sea, Wikinger in the German Baltic Sea, and East Anglia ONE in the southern North Sea, where the company invested close to €4 billion.
