Since their foundation in 1998, Juwi have been one of the leading European developers of renewable energy. To date, the German company have completed the construction of over 1,000 wind turbines with an installed capacity of 2.4GW. Juwi have also completed over 1,750 solar projects which have a total installed capacity of 3.1GW. Their total installed capacity is enough to supply power to approximately 2.6m German households. Their portfolio not only consists of German projects, recently they have undertaken projects in Italy, Greece, India and the US.
The German company are one of the biggest developers of wind and solar energy in Europe, with a total installed capacity of 5.7GW. Since 2014, Juwi have been owned by Mannheim’s MVV Energie which are one of Germany’s leading energy suppliers. Thanks to their vast experience, Juwi are able to offer innovative development plans to construct independent energy systems. Their hybrid solutions have been developed in order to provide off-grid power supply to various customers, such as the mining and cement industry.
In April 2022, Juwi announced the completion of a 204MW PV plant in Kozani, Greece. The project is the largest PV plant in Europe using bi-facial solar technology. Despite the complex nature of the site, the project was completed within 18 months. The Kozani project consists of 18 sites with over 4,500 acres and contains 500,000 bifacial modules. The solar plant was developed for the Greek energy supplier, Helpe. Juwi will maintain the operation and management of the site which will power up to 75,000 Greek households.
