Established in 2006, Recurrent Energy has steadily risen to prominence as a key player in the renewable energy industry. The company has a dual focus on the development of both solar and energy storage projects. Regionally, Recurrent Energy focuses on North America, leveraging its expertise and resources to contribute significantly to the region's renewable energy landscape. In the ever-evolving renewable energy sector, Recurrent Energy distinguishes itself through strategic initiatives aimed at the development of cutting-edge solar projects and energy storage solutions.
US developer Recurrent Energy, a subsidiary of Canadian Solar, has acquired a large photovoltaic portfolio in southern Spain, totaling over 420MWp. The company is currently developing several solar projects across Spain and plans to begin construction on over 1GW of solar projects in 2024. Located in Carmona, Seville (Andalusia), the four projects Rey I, II, III, and IV are currently under construction. They are expected to generate around 916,000MWh of clean energy annually. This will be enough to power over 275,000 homes and reduce approximately 184,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions each year.
