The company with headquarter in London was founded 2020 with the idea of investing in development, construction and long-term ownership of renewable energy projects. In this context they focus on solar parks, onshore wind farms and battery storage projects. Being backed by CPP Investments, the young company aims to drive stable long-term, risk-adjusted returns. The overall goal to enabling the energy transition is being addressed by identifying the dynamic situation regarding Europe’s permanently changing markets and developing - based on the findings - innovative solutions.
By having onshore wind projects across Finland in the portfolio, the company plans to expand Europe wide in the future. The acquired projects are expected to be commissioned in 2022 and will produce approximately 590 GWh per year. This first transaction with OX2 exhibits a capacity of 171 MW and points out the long-term investment strategy and ability to be swiftly and decisively in the context of executing acquisitions.
The London-based renewable energy investor Renewable Power Capital acquired four onshore wind projects with a capacity of 528MW for €800 million. Located in Sweden’s Kramfors and Sollefteå municipalities, the four sites are expected to be fully operational by the end of 2025. The company more than doubled their onshore wind portfolio with this investment from 317 MW to a total of 845 MW in Sweden and Finland, in addition to a 4 GW solar PV pipeline in Spain.
