Taaleri Energia both develop and invest in solar and wind energy, they are currently investing in their sixth renewable energy infrastructure fund. They are one of the largest Finnish wind private equity owners and operators, currently accounting for 1.8% of the country’s electricity. Their first three funds were focused on wind power, with the first being released in 2011. The three funds were responsible for the development of 12 wind farms located across Finland, with a total installed capacity of 312MW. Their fourth fund, SolarWind I was released in 2017 and focused on international wind and solar projects with sites located in Serbia, Jordan and Sweden.
In December 2021, the Finnish renewables group announced the €44m financing of their latest solar and wind fund. The SolarWind II fund contains projects in the Nordics, Poland, Spain and Texas. Solar Wind II has already invested in three Finnish wind farms with a total installed capacity of 342MW and a 342MW site in Texas. The financing is provided by a European infrastructure debt specialist and two Finnish family offices.
Finnish-based investor Taaleri Energia purchased a 111MW wind farm in Croatia, which was developed by Encro, with its SolarWind II fund. Located in the county of Zadar, the wind farm will start construction in the second quarter of 2021 and is expected to be fully operational by late 2023.
