Bordeaux-based independent wind, solar, hydro, and biomass developer

Since their inception in 1994, Valorem have expanded from solely pursuing French wind projects to developing solar, solar, and biomass projects across Europe. Despite their European diversification, Valorem have maintained a strong national presence having developed 250MW of French solar. The Bordeaux-based group aims to ramp up growth, with a project pipeline of 5GW having previously developed 2.4GW of renewable energy projects. To aid in their expansion, Valorem released a crowdfunding portal to help achieve their goal of a net-zero future.

Financing confirmed for 165MW Matkussaari wind project

In February 2022, Valorem announced the completion of financing for their 165MW Finnish wind project. The project required €135m financing from AIP Infrastructure 2 and €10m from OP Bank. The Matkussaari wind farm is part of the Viaati, which also includes the 165MW Kalistanneva wind project that was previously sold by Valorem. Both the wind farms combined account for 1.2% of Finland's total energy consumption. The Matkussaari project is comprised of 27 wind turbines each with a 5.5MW capacity. Construction of the project commenced in March 2022 with estimated commissioning by 2025.
