What‘s the focus of Verbund AG?
Verbund AG is one of the largest hydropower producers in Europe and Austria's largest electricity supply company. The company covers over 40 percent of the country's electricity requirements. Because it focuses on sustainable energy sources, it generates 90 percent of its generation from hydropower. Moreover, the company invests into renewable energy projects such as onshore wind and solar energy projects.
Investment into Solar portfolio in Italy
In late 2022, the Vienna-based Verbund AG disclosed an agreement to purchase a PV project portfolio of up to 250 MWp which PV-Invest will build over the next three years. The portfolio comprises up to 45 solar PV plants, each with an individual capacity of less than 10 MWp, located in the region of Apulia in southern Italy.
