The 2017 founded Greencoat Renewables owns and operates renewable energy infrastructure assets in Europe. During the last years, they were able to aggrandize their portfolio to 21 onshore wind farms and solar parks. While the majority of the renewable energy projects are spread in Ireland, a few new parks were built in France as well. This development reflects the company's strategy, to expand to continental markets in Europe where they identified a significant opportunity to aggregate wind and solar assets. Overall, the now owned renewable projects generate a capacity of more than 520 MW.
Greencoat Capital LLP manages the stock listed (FRA: GRP) company. By being a specialized investment manager in the renewable energy infrastructure sector, the gained experience plays a huge impact to the Greencoat Renewables decisions and therefore success. Another renewables subsidiary of Greencoat Capital is Greencoat UK Wind.
Greencoat Renewables, managed by Greencoat Capital, is to acquire the Erstrask North wind farm with a capacity of 134.4MW in Sweden from Enercon. The project is expected to be operational by the end of 2023.

Greencoat Renewables will acquire a 50% stake in the project. The remaining half will be purchased through a fund that is also managed by Greencoat Capital in partnership with a pension fund.
In 2023, Greencoat Renewables will purchase a 22.5% stake in a 288MW German offshore wind farm from Marguerite. The Butendiek offshore wind farm is located in the North Sea, off Germany, and has been in operation since 2015.
