What’s the focus of Windel Energy?

Based in Blyth in the United Kingdom, Windel Energy specialises in developing and managing renewable energy projects. Namely, these are projects in the onshore wind, solar, energy storage and the hydrogen sector. With over 4GW of renewable energy and Battery Energy Storage in various stages of development, Windel Energy is at the forefront of the industry. Established in 2018, the company actively searches for potential sites for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) across the UK. Moreover, Windel has been dedicated to developing large-scale solar projects since its founding. With a current pipeline of 1.4GW, they want to contribute to the UK's goal of reaching net-zero emissions by 2050.

Joint development of 1.5GW Battery Energy Storage Systems in UK

Battery storage developer Windel Energy and Canadian Solar are teaming up to develop 1.5 gigawatts of battery energy storage systems (BESS) in the UK. Windel will work on the early stages of BESS projects, and Canadian Solar will provide funding and support. Their goal is to have these projects ready for construction. This collaboration follows their commitment to develop 1.4 gigawatts of solar together.
